Does anyone know exactly where that view is? I'd love to see it in person and photograph it sometime.

I believe it is in the vicinity of the I-10W/I-35 interchange. Perhaps a little to the north and west.

definitely east of I-10 and north of 35 (foreground) when considering the 35/10 interchange.

there are some old government apartments (8-10 stories) in that area (a little south of cypress st next to shag the salon) that would be a candidate for where this was taken...

You can see the Vistana in the skyline.

Ive always loved that view. Also like how you know exactly where the Alamo is. "The area lacking any real height"

Favorite View

Actually I took the same exact photo of the skyline, the view is from an old apartment buiding that is owned by SA Housing Authority. The Grand Hyatt doesn't interfere with the view, and if you go all the way to the west side of
the building the Marriott is pictured. Most people take the picture from the center of the building, which is what you see when exiting the elevator.
I have this picture on my website. If you all want to see my site I will attach a link next time. I won't now because I want to make sure you all want to see it first, I don't want to break the rules of the site as being a solicitor because on my site all my San Antonio images are for sale.

The Model, you can put a link to your website in your signature. There's nothing wrong with it. Many forumers have links to their websites or photo albums or blogs in their signatures. See how I have links in my signature below? You could do one too.

I would also like to see your photos.

Yeah, they also just ran it on KSAT, talked of an IHOP Cafe (mentioned it by name) and of course possibly a dry cleaner and grocery store.. First I've heard of the IHOP Cafe being there though.

A IHOP Cafe would work as it's a smaller (much smaller) and more sleek; modern looking Ihop restaurant. The first ever IHOP Cafe and still the only one in the world is on the north side somewhere (off Military Hwy and Wurzbach I think) so it wouldn't surprise me if one goes in downtown, esp the Vistana.

Here's the website.

Ya'll think it'll be on Commerce side? or Houston St.?
I think Commerce side. I parked up there a couple of weeks ago and took some pics. Pretty reasonable. It cost me 3 bucks for a couple of hours. It was my first time up there, but the Houston St. elevator seemed a little easier to spot than Commerce elevator. I'll post a couple of pics in a minute.

Also their menu is more "sophisticated" than a regular IHOP restaurant.

Awesome views! The tower suite is sweet!

I was just by there tonight and it is really nicely lit up. Looks better at night than in the day imo.

I saw it at night the other day, and I do believe it looks great at night... but I could never choose which one looks better, it just looks great. He did a fantastic job organizing this building.

Noticed yesterday that a telescopic crane is now at Durango Phase of VC and come walls are up (possibly the stairwell?) for the interior garage.

Vistana is at 60% right now and this will add another 245 units. Judson lofts 84-units were 70% pre-sold.

I would say it'll be a couple of years before we see local serving retail really hit street level.
Some of the steps are in place to indicate that the upward sprial might not be too far off.

Walls are going up quickly at the Durango site of VC.
1st floor is poured on ES site on Travis side.
By looking at this rendering, it now makes sense why only on the Travis side; Houston and Soledad corner might be a little higher because of the lobby. ?.?.

I'm off to Japan for a few weeks, be sure and post updates and pics of the grand opening (river) if anyone is going.
