^Yes, it's all semi-arid grasslands there...some Canadians might call it "desert" even (like those in Osoyoos do
).
It's in the extreme South-East corner of Alberta, and there's nothing down there. A little west though, is Milk River, and a very fascinating area called Writing-On-Stone...definitely worth the trip. Some of the oldest, and largest collection of native rock paintings on the NA Great Plains...the canyon-like rivers, and hoodoos are also interesting.
Just watch out for rattlesnakes, blackwidow spiders and scorpions...(and the cactus).
