"Route 165" was frequently used to refer to Bishop Grandin Blvd. when the road first opened. I'm not sure when or why it fell out of favour.

Most people I know use Hwy 59 when referring to Lagimodiere Blvd.

There's no balls to be found on Main Street, especially in the City Hall vicinity.

I've noticed the distinct lack of * Balls * on Main St. as well, the most disturbing part of course is the lack of any in and around City Hall, could it be that hard to find at least 1 pair?

^ Very *calming photo*, Lake Winnipeg perhaps?

Self Plug

Hi guys just a little self plug here. Thought some of you might be interested in checking out my newly re-vamped website Winnipeg Love Hate. I've rebuilt it from the ground up. Hopefully you like the new look. It's a lot cleaner, and gives the photos much more screen real estate....

It's very nicely done. It has a clean look and the photos, which are the high-lite, in my opinion are well placed, and more prominently displayed. Worth a look for anyone interested in Winnipeg, photos and Architecture.

Are you the webmaster/designer of the site as well? As I tend to look at the code more than others.

Thanks. Glad you like the new look.

It's a Wordpress theme that I've heavily modified. I did the design work, but I had help with the back-end stuff. Definitely not my forté!

Thx Bryan.
I've done many websites, blogs and forums over the years but their is "always" someone better at it, we hire them, great Mods on WP and the design.

I was curious if you have much involvement in the art scene, ie: painting, water colors, prints etc. of Winnipeg, which require initial photos at 1st, your expertise, but then used for other art related en devours. More of a discussion for a PM so I'll leave it at that.

Looking forward to driving that road Friday of May long on the way to Rushing River in Ontario. Going to spend a weekend at West Hawk in late July.

^ Love it! I always enjoy staring out the window when taking off from or landing at YWG. I will say that Winnipeg looks more impressive when approaching it from the NW/SE runway as opposed to the N/S one where you basically get nothing but farmland coming from the north, or just a small bit of St. James when coming from the south.

As to that first picture, I always wondered about the huge distance separating the NB and SB bridges over the TCH at the interchange with PTH 12. Anyone know the reason why?

I read somewhere that the runway I landed on was a temporary thing, and they're back to the old configuration now.

I was at the zoo on August 2, and there were a lot of planes flying south-north.
