Buckhead Skyline on its own puts Charlotte and Nashville to shame.

Nashville, yeah. But I don't think Buckhead's skyline alone can outclass Charlotte anymore. Unless Buckhead gets a couple new big ones.

You obviously haven't been to Nashville lately, which have at least 35 cranes up right now.

And just a sliver of Camden in the background of the second pic! Great to see all the new residences coming to Buckhead.

I was coming through Buckhead the other day and noticed that they had construction fencing up at 99 West Paces.

Kimpton to flag Portman's Buckhead boutique hotel

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/..._news_headline
Quote:
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants will flag a planned boutique hotel in Buckhead.

Atlanta’s Portman Holdings LLC is developing the 216-room hotel on East Paces Ferry Road. It is converting the mid-century Sobu Flats condo building. It's expected to open in late 2020.

The project will mark Kimpton’s second Atlanta property. The first is at the Porsche Experience Center in Hapeville. InterContinental Hotels Group, which has its Americas headquarters in Dunwoody, is the parent company of Kimpton.

The Kimpton Buckhead will feature a ground-floor restaurant and bar, courtyard dining venue, pool and rooftop lounge. The hotel will also have about 3,000 square feet of meeting space.

Upscale project near Atlanta History Center

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/..._news_headline

Quote:
More details are emerging about a proposal to build a luxury mixed-use project near the Atlanta History Center and St. Regis hotel in Buckhead.

The two-building project would blend an 81,000-square-foot social and business private club with 54 condos, a 130-key hotel and nearly 10,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space.

It’s planned for a nearly four-acre site at West Paces Ferry Road and East Andrews Drive, replacing the 103 West event venue and Yebo restaurant.

Buckhead planners last week commended project leaders for “their attention to sustainability practices,” including the use of green walls along the building facades, according to notes from the SPI-9 Development Review Committee. The planners also commented that the curvature of the design “responds directly” to the Atlanta History Center plaza.

The Buckhead Village was smart to put a lid on building height. It really adds to the urban feel.
