I think it's just evolved organically / sporadically, without a dedicated person leading the effort consistently. It's pretty disorganized. There's the
HARRISBURG-LANCASTER-LEBANON-YORK | South Central, PA | Regional Development Thread, and also the PHILADELPHIA-CAMDEN-WILMINGTON-ATLANTIC CITY-READING | Metro Development Thread.

And then there's this thread, which is kind of a catch-all. It can be confusing to new members, especially because the opening post of this thread highlights cities that are covered in other threads. Allentown, Lehigh Valley's largest city, has been discussed in all three threads.

Final plans and elevations for the Boyd Theater replacement in downtown Bethlehem are expected to be approved at Thursday's Bethlehem planning commission meeting.. Demolition has begun on the original theater and the new mixed use building is scheduled to be completed by 2023. I couldn't find an image link to the new renderings but the PDF below is the elevation review from the Bethlehem planning commission.

My wife was visiting Allentown for work and snapped this picture for me. I believe this is at the NE Corner of N 7th St & Linden St .

Yep! Both buildings under construction are "The Hive Residences" (weird name) which will add 250 apartments to City Center Allentown. They're being built by the same development company that has built over 13 apartment buildings in the past decade in Allentown.

Yeah that's a strange name but it's good to see all the development happening!

(South) Williamsport -

The new Muncy Bank facility in South Williamsport is a smaller project, but I figured I'd post it here. It will be 15,790 SF / four stories -

Since the Lehigh Valley is it's own separate Metro area, separate from Philadelphia and "South Central" PA/Harrisburg area, I fully support a "Lehigh Valley Development Thread" under the main "City Compilations" section.... I just don't have the time and energy to do it AND I don't know the Lehigh Valley that well.

Anyone who knows the area well and wants to make it happen, let's do it!

I fully support a Lehigh Valley thread. I’m in the LV often for work and it’s BOOMING out there.

I live in Upper Bucks County and have a Coopersburg mailing address, last time I drove in Bethlehem I could not get over the changes on 412 with all of the development plus the Wind Creek Casino is building another hotel.

Upper Bucks is considered the Lehigh Valley, St Lukes Hospital is also adding on to their Upper Bucks Campus on 663 near the turnpike, lots going on in the area.

I’m up in Bethlehem for work today and I’ll try and get whatever construction progress I can find bouncing between office buildings.

I was in Center Valley on 309 last week, St. Lukes Hospital added another medical building next to their Center Valley Lanark Road facility, this one is for pediatrics.

Updated renderings for the "The Marquis" in Easton. About 275 apartments replacing an aging parking deck.

5 Story mixed-use project on Bethlehem's South Side received the required zoning approval last night. Drove past it yesterday and they have construction fencing up and the site leveled. Can't imagine this getting held up by local government as it's in partnership with a public parking garage and the developer used to be the mayor of Bethlehem.

The Banana Factory community arts center on the South Side of Bethlehem just got approval to demolish their existing home and construct a new 5 story building at the same location.
