Lucic has to be pre-ordered and I can see Demers coming onboard as well.

If so, I am fine starting the season with that lineup.

Aww fuck. Bad trade and everyone knows it. Just cant believe it. Listening the the Oilers news conference was sickening. By the way this was handled it would suggest MacT was still calling the shots

Montreal got Ripped off also. So I guess its not a terrible day!

Only reason I question Lucic is that he's still meeting with other teams. He's not inked yet, not unreasonable to think that he still might go elsewhere. Just saying it's a possibility

What a garbage trade.
Hot ticket for players huh... So you have to get railed in that lop sided of a trade for a yet fully proved second pairing D.
Awful, just awful.

We need a guy like Larsson... But the return for Hall is brutal. Have to think that's all that was out there.

after a decade of bottom feeding, the team has absolutely no bargaining strength in trying to fill the glaring holes in its makeup.

this deal is a reflection of that, not of hall's worth in a trade between equals.

it will be painful getting out if the basement - and this trade proves that - but it still beats staying in the basement for another decade.

Looking back now, they traded Ray at the right time. One of the best ever, but I'll take Reilly over Ray.

NJ got the best player but the Oilers gave up something they had an abundance of for a piece that they really need. Assuming Lucic and Demers are signed, the Oilers are a much better team now.

Kassian, Nurse, Lucic, Maroon...I like this a lot.

^^ Forgot about Darnell ... a keeper for sure.

I feel for Taylor, who's taking it personally. Believe me, it's not about him, it's about working our way out of a terrible mess, all of which is about a decade of mismanagement (and I suspect ownership meddling too).

I am hoping for 5.5 x 5 years (dreaming I know), 6 x 6 would be fine too.

After having some time to decompress and evaluate the trade for what it is, I was being a bit dramatic with the Ray reference. At least PC got a player that can step in and immediately make a difference on D. Well done

IF Lucic and Demers are signed, one could almost look at this as Hall for Larsson, Lucic and Demers...which would be a win.
Too bad PC couldn't get a 2nd rounder in the Larsson deal to offset the pick we're giving back to BOS...

Sounds like something big is brewing in COL, might be Barrie and Landeskog to EDM or a threeway, Barrie to EDM (for Nuge).

RUMOUR I'M HEARING: A three-way deal, involving Trouba, Barrie, Landeskog, and Nuge, plus god knows what else.
