What do you think the issue was with that place, if there was one? I've worked downtown for three years now and never visited there, so I can't really say.

I haven't either but been saying I would every time I drove by it

They did renovate the entire pub recently, probably to attract patrons of Ice District. And then COVID hit....

Many of the places that are able to stay open right now is due to extended patios and some extra revenue from that. The winter is going to be brutal with office workers unlikely to return while there is a pandemic. There just isn't enough residents and visitors to sustain all the places.

A new little cafe coming to 105st/Jasper.

An new ghost kitchen opening on 105st north of Chez. Food trucks are one thing, but an 'ATCO' trailer on a parking lot pumping out below average food does not create an urban experience. I am quite disappointed that these are being approved.

Bistro 99 in the Omega to open in ~2 weeks.

That's correct.

Coffee, baking, sandwiches/soup, wine bar after work

We can't wait.

It'll be great to have more food options in the area!

The downtown Green Onion Cake Man is reopening in November. This shutdown was due to COVID-19, then due to ventilation issues. The owner quizzed me about the hours to open, and I said lunchtime and after work. The food at the Alberta Ave location was delicious as usual!

Endeavor Brewing is expanding their tasting room. Looks like they took over the marshal arts studio next door.

Also had a chance to finally get out to the Bruce Hotel on the weekend. Was quite enjoyable. food was quite good. Steak was done to perfection. All for 39 a person.

Wow - after all these years they are still operating in Bruce. I have plenty of good memories having steak dinners out there. Is the 39$ a flat price for the 16 ounce or are they offering smaller or larger cuts?

Highly recommended.

The cuts very. We were on Sat. so the Steaks were 8oz but it was paired with shrimp. More than enough food.

The prices are on line.

^ You can be the new owner and get training from the retiring owner.

https://globalnews.ca/news/7353145/t...nton-for-sale/

Quote:
A staple in Edmonton’s Beverly neighbourhood, Take 5 is for sale.

The cafe is listed for $248,000 and, according to the listing, includes everything such as fixtures and equipment. Training would also be provided for the new owners to learn the business.

The shop has been owned by the same person since it opened who, according to the listing, is retiring.

When contacted by Global News for comment, the owner declined an interview.

Take 5 has been open in the Beverly neighbourhood for 41 years and is often described as one of Edmonton’s best doughnut shops. The cafe has an average four-star rating on Zomato and 4.5 stars on Yelp.

The cafe is located at 47 Street and 118 Avenue.
