I ate in the Tick Tock Restaurant in the summer of 1984 with visiting family, precisely because I knew it was a historic Hollywood place. I don't know about the changes from it being the Tick Tock Tea Room to the Tick Tock Restaurant, but the interior was not like the photo of the "Tea Room" photo above.
The interior was like a big dining room your Grandma might have had. All the tables were big wooden round tables with tablecloths. If you all ordered similar meals, you were served, say, the potatoes and vegetables in glass serving bowls that you helped yourself from--like you would at Grandma's. There were wooden sideboards around the room, making it feel homey. If you wanted more of anything they brought you more.
Lots of comfort food type meals on the menu.
