Neighboring properties would have to be developed along with it for anything big to happen. But this is great news, and this will most likely be a new Rainey St. bar.

I don't remember the details, and I am too lazy to look it up, but the sign ordinance also has a maximum height. Placing the billboard on top of the building would probably have violated the height limit. Also, a replacement billboard can only be a certain percentage of the size of any existing non-conforming off-premise sign (billboard).

It's not great news that Bob Woody purchased it. Unless you like the idea of Rainey Street being even more like 6th Street in the future.

Ah yes. Hostage to a CVC and a grandfathered billboard. Totally makes sense.

TOWERS's has a nice history of the Lopez house and the proposed Lopez Tower going up in the backyard of the little house next to the Tyndall.

I saw that. The height is listed as 89 feet, but there are some wild sea level elevations on those lots. Measured from the southeast corner, the Tyndall is actually 116 feet tall, just barely making it a high rise.

Anyone know of any development plans or new projects for Windsor Park/University Hills neighborhoods? I know they are primarily residential, but there are also several huge lots sitting either empty, or have rundown buildings/businesses on them.

Here's the site plan for "Surf Ranch". The failed NLand Surf Park was sold, and this is the new version by the new owners.

There does appear to be another error with this submittal. Remember, that they also got the address wrong for the tree plan. The project detail lists the address as 316 West 12th Street, which is the "Westview" office project - this one:

400 West 14th Street would put it here:

This is from the data file:

CVC determination for 400 West 14th Street. This was filed yesterday.

But... but... that means Karen from Hutto has to walk a few blocks from her office building to get what she needs before sitting in rush hour traffic.

The horror!

I moved the Nate Paul posts to its own thread just because that story is far from over, and there will be a lot more posts about it.
