Note how it blends into the streetscape - matching exactly the existing color scheme from Popeyes.

^ It's so seemless! Great to see that modern architecture can respect the fast food heritage of our fair city.

I take advantage of the tint - it lets me use the reflection to see who's at my front door without opening the window and staring down!

^^^ LOL Number 1 rule in Architecture: form follows Popeyes

On a serious note, I love what they did with existing portion of The Flats development. Well done.

Columbia College 13th & Michigan

Does anyone know what's going on with the Columbia College Dance Center at 13th & Michigan? They've got all the scaffolding up but wasn't sure if they're demolishing it or just renovating.

They are knocking down the Byline Bank across the street to build condos (Curbed Article). If only they could do the same to the MB Bank at Belmont and Halsted.

Just facade restoration per one of the workers I spoke with. Someone on this board also posted a picture of a permit indicating the same.

It’s possible the number of MB drive thrus could be reduced with the 5/3 merger. To cut redundancy and cash in on valuable real-estate. Just a little more challenging with MB being a business bank. Cant imagine an owner walking to the bank carrying cash. They’d drive.

News about Congress Theater and adjacent TOD. This is one project I think needs to get off the ground in this cycle or the preservation of the building is at risk. Vacant buildings age very quickly.

Speaking of Logan Square and things near Congress Theater...there's something on the September ZBA for 2040 N Milwaukee Ave for a new live theater and performing arts venue. A little digging around and I found that the guys who run The Lincoln Lodge comedy show are trying to open up a venue there.

2040 N Milwaukee Ave is a block or so south of Congress Theater and basically across from Concord Music Theater. Pretty close to some newer developments and other things U/C.
