Someone asked about Penticton a few weeks ago and I just wanted to confirm that yes, we are in the midst of a building boom. I compiled all of the major projects I could think of.

Skaha Lake Towers (1st tower occupied, 2nd tower U/C)

Penticton Regional Hospital new tower (Completed 2019)

Lakeside Resort West Wing (Completed 2018)

BRIX (Completed 2018)

Ellis One (U/C)

The Wedge (U/C)

Nanaimo Ave (U/C)

Fairfield Inn (U/C)

Lakestone (Prep)

Riverside (Prep)

Marina Way (Proposed)

Front St (Proposed)

Lakeside Resort Tower (Proposed)

Ogopogo (Dormant)

Westminster Ave (Dormant)

Haynes St (Dormant)

Penticton Place (Cancelled)

Great to see the development boom in Penticton. It has a nice core, but quite a few lots waiting to be built on. Once those are filled in, it will be a great small city downtown.

I am somewhat surprised to see so much construction given the City's low population growth, but I assume a lot of the units in these projects will be bought for seasonal, rec properties.

As promised, some updates from across the lake (the light wasn't great but I'll try again on a brighter day!):

Ella on the right, the new crane at Brooklyn on the left.

Left to right: One Water Street, Ellis Parc and The St. Paul

Sopa Square on the left; the crane in the centre is at a new development on Gordon; The Shore can just be seen on the very right.

Midtown

Downtown

Surprised by the amount of development in penticton! That's fantastic.

Thanks for the update also, great shots. It will be nice to see Brooklyn rise next to Ella very soon!

^ Exciting news. I still have reservations about Westcorps' ability to execute but I hope they can get this off the ground.

This project is such a tease, really want it to go through. It is big and ambitious for Kelowna we must remember. At least it has a pulse.

The sales center was originally scheduled to open in the Spring, now they say "a few months". Unlikely to see any construction at this year it seems. I thought they would push to have the sales center open this month in time for tourist season.

That office building looks awesome. How exciting. It is amazing how fast Kelowna is growing.

Was just trying to find the official height myself on the Kelowna development site. Maybe have to ask Landmark themselves?

A 23 floor office tower can vary quite a bit in height, from the low / mid 90 m range to the 110 m range.

Very exciting project for Kelowna. Looks good too.

They're proceeding on spec. There must be a lot of confidence in the market out there. I wonder if they're not capitalizing on the desirability of the area to draw companies there. I know of a number of Edmonton companies that have opened satellite offices in Kelowna, One has been slowly transitioning staff to their Kelowna office for the last few years.

They’ve broken ground on just about all of the new clement projects (6 story (x2) on north side, 6 story adjacent to St. Paul, new commercial beside sun Rype). Driving west down clement will be nearly unrecognizable in about 8 months time with these additions and the height from Ellis Parc/One Water down the corridor. Love it!

Speaking of corridors - Ellis street will be worth a few photos in the near future looking either direction!

That's fantastic. This means Clement Avenue is steps closer to its long overdue widening and intersection improvements. I read the city will cover any remaining sections not affected by these new developments.

I'll be heading to Kelowna in a few weeks and will try and get some good shots!

Looks like the foundation slab has been poured at Brooklyn!

There's a cool progress video on Mission group instagram.

The St Paul on Clement, site prep is underway for another similar development right next door.

One Water Street Progress

Ellis Parc finally starting to rise

Ella

I had to abandon taking pictures on Clement as I got caught out in a heavy downpour! I will get out again some evening this week.
The change on Clement in the last couple of weeks is incredible! Two large developments underway on the North side from Richter all the way up to Graham!
On the South side, there is a new development underway next door to the St Paul, another at Richter and Clement, and more homes slated for demolition between Ethel and Richter.
