Eh. Do we want a skyscraper boom in San Antonio? I'm all for good mid-rise growth throughout, but full fledge 500 ft. + skyscrapers aren't San Antonio's vibe. San Antonio should focus on what makes it a great city: history. Keep the pedestrian scale.

The truth is, nobody really knows.

I just hope the global economy doesn't go into another recession.

p.s. I agree with adtobias. "Moderate growth" is definitely San Antonio's flavor.

p.p.s. the spurs win by 46 pts

I think we are going to see a mini boom soon. The way the mayor talks about downtown, It's bound to happen. Keep your eyes on Hemisfair Park. I'm crossing my fingers something big happens there.
I see several structures over 20 stories plus in the near future. HEB and Frost are big companies and need landmark structures gracing S.A.'s skyline.

Rackspace should have built a signature tower downtown!! Can you imagine if the F-500 community, USAA, Valero, Tesoro, Nustar or Clear Channel built towers downtown? Can you imagine if a chunk of the high rise inventory that dots the San Antonio landscape were built downtown instead, San Antonio would have one of the bigger skylines in the U.S.
Many cities that have new bigger skylines, Charlotte, Austin for example, don't have many high rises outside their downtowns, like S.A.

Paulie, Paulie!

"I see several structures over 20 stories plus in the near future."

Come on now! Please! SA is not able to absorb that kind of space right now. I think you see... well, I'm not how you come up with these fantasies.

I don't see a building boom any time soon either but I think we could possibly see a new building every couple of years. Maybe the Presidio Tower will be the first.
