Thanks! That totally makes sense. They will be able to swing this type of crane 360 degrees even if it is shorter than nearby towers.

Another shot of the Agri Place crane:

And looks like the work on the Ohanlon's patio has finally re-started, although there wasn't a construction worker in sight, there is the beginning of a structure started..

The crane's height will be increased by 100' later in the fall. I hear that the cab will be 240', and the tip of the boom will be close to 500'.

Does anyone know if agriculture place will be built using steel? If my memory serves me right, the first one was constructed out of steel.

You can see the steel frame in the existing podium they have partially demoed. Don't know about the new tower.

They look to only be a few weeks away from reaching ground floor.

'Just got word that ground floor will be achieved in 2 weeks. It would have been sooner if it hadn't been for the rain this summer.

In roughly one month, the crane will be lifted 100'. They want the crane to be at full height before they start stacking floors.

Forms for what appear to be for the elevator and stairwell boxes are set up on the ground floor so it looks like the ground floor will start taking shape soon.

Looks to almost be at ground level. They're still advertising that the shops on the ground floor will open next summer so they have their work cut of for them.

I spoke with my buddy the crane operator here the other day. He said that the project was scheduled to be at the 11th floor this week. The excavation contractor screwed-up and delayed the project immeasurably. (The rain this past summer probably didn't help either.) Also, the crane will now be raised when the 7th floor is achieved and secure.

In the contractor's and subtrade's defence, I'm sure there are a NUMBER of issues from piling spec to environmental conditions that contributed to the project delay. But yes the piles took longer than they should have.
