5 beekman is ok if you ignore the crown(s) and giant blank wall, you know the bad parts. The glassy portion facing city hall is quite ok. No part of this schismatic schizo building is ok, this is an architectural abortion of the worst kind.

Believe me, I'm not defending it beyond stating that there is one angle where it isn't ABSOLUTE visual griefing. This building is just pure awfullness though, like diabetes without the HFCS.

29-26 Northern Boulevard tops out

Quote:
We checked in at 29-26 Northern Boulevard last month, and noticed that the building was near top out, with the southern part of the building reaching the top floor. When we stopped by last week, we, we observed that the building has now officially topped out, as seen in the photo below.

The skyscraper, which stands at 45-stories is another massive mixed-used project, and will deliver in summer of 2018. Here are more details on the project from YIMBY:

Per the DOB filings, 29-26 Northern Boulevard will total 382,120 square feet. 13,579 square feet will be dedicated to ground-floor retail, while the remainder will be divided between 415 apartments. The building will stand 45 stories and 473 feet tall, making it one of the most prominent towers in the Court Square vicinity.

I like it a lot.

It dares to be different in a cityscape where there still seems to exist a strong suggestion, if not an outright demand, to conform to a kind of unwritten architectural norm.

I guess I'd call it "millenialist"......

It's on the right. Reminds me of Las Vegas with its design.

Fresh Rendering For 43-Story 29-22 Northern Boulevard, Aka ALTA LIC, Long Island City

Quote:
The project is being developed by Simon Baron Development and Quadrum Global. Once complete, the building will yield 382,000 square feet of space and create 467 apartments that range from studio to three-bedroom units.

Tenants will have access to ground floor retail, and a diverse array of amenities, including a common space terrace on the 38th floor with a sundeck, seating, outdoor dining space, and movie screen. There will also be a fitness center with pool, and an on-site dog run and pet spa.

The porcelain-clad structure was designed by the Stephen B. Jacobs Architects.

Leasing will begin in early March of 2018. Studios will start at $2,600 per month, with 3-bedroom units starting at $5,000 per month. Full completion is anticipated to happen by the end of the year.

29-32 Northern Blvd is an eyesore. Cataract inducing if you ask me.

Yeah, this one tried not to be just a glass box, but in the process it ended up making itself look a lot worse than a glass box.
