It's not the best picture, but I like how it sticks our of the traditional brick towers that surround it.
Has anyone bought that parking lot ?

One day, I hope to see something 600-800 feet built there so it's presence is felt from Grant Park.

That would be great. Considering how fast those parking lots along south Wabash and State are getting developed, it makes sense that the few remaining lots would rise in value and attract a big project.

That's the worst color. It's the same sickly green that they used on the new glass on 3 Bryant Park in NY.

^ i for one LOVE the color, particularly how the green compliments many of the red brick buildings in its immediate vicinity, as seen in solar's pic below:

Agree to disagree :]

I do think the building is decent. I like the fins. They remind me of a budget-version 300 N LaSalle.

Really? I for one absolutely love it. It contrasts well with its surroundings. Its a breath of fresh air amid a conveyor belt of endless blue glass towers.

I had to look that one up, but I really don't see the resemblance at all :/

These comparisons are really starting to confuse me

I don't hate it but it doesn't live up to its rendering at all.

Did you happen to mean 3 Bryant Park?

Also that's an interesting take. I'm never one to tell someone they're wrong (to each their own) but the glass is universally loved. I think it looks great but you're certainly entitled to your opinion. Did you have a style or color you would have rather seen?

Saw this posted on reddit by u/elzilio. It's awesome how prominent Essex is from this vantage point. (The green glass looks great too)

The color looks more muted in person. I had reservations about it until I saw it a couple weeks ago when I wad there. It belnds perfectly with its surroundings.

This deserves a bump since it was last on the page...Great angle reveals the prominence on the south GP skyline..

I meant 3 Bryant Park, not 4. Sorry.

I don't see how you can't see any formal resemblance to 300 N LaSalle. Same metal fin motifs.

I wouldn't call it "universally loved", the 3 Bryant Park reclad was unpopular especially on this site. I personally just don't like green glass. Black or clear are my personal preferences.
