But really, that weather will only last a couple of months, before getting into more "comfortable" cold weather...right in time for Festival Du Voyager in Feb

I also just want to point out, after all this talk about crime - and how "bad" it is - really, it isn't that bad...unless things have really changed in the last 8-9 years. I definitely wouldn't be scared to travel into most areas...certain areas may seem rundown, but areas you likely wouldn't live/go into anyway. But, still, even those areas aren't even that bad in the bigger picture.

Well to tell you the truth my first pick would have been Yellowknife LOL mainly because of its cold and fresh summers, but then when i heard that it's a very small city, it's expensive and conservative i thought mmmm maybe i should look for something bigger, cheaper and liberal.... so i did my research and came up with Winnipeg Is any of you familiar with the application forms i will need to fill out to migrate there? I had a look at the website and i saw the federal one and the provincial one, which one would give me more chances of success?

Is there room for more? Winnipeg sounds great.

I visited there a few years back and was really impressed. I really liked Assiniboine Park. One other advantage I saw to Winnipeg was its proximity to some magnificent lakes and the Canadian Shield. I think that Whiteshell park is a hidden Gem

What do you mean "is there more room for more?" This is Canada. Of course there's room.

The more, the merrier!!

Where are you from? You should live in Gimli, Minnedosa or similar, those are really nice towns and closer to the nature.

Oh my gosh Yellowknife, that could be even more depressing than Winnipeg
Why don't you like summers? Summers in Winnipeg get pretty hot for long time.

i'm sorry, it's just that I had so high expectations when I came... all my friends were telling me: "you're going to the city of Winnie the Pooh, isn't that cool?".

The first thing I thought about Canada was to find everything very modern, hyper technological, bustling cities, a green economy...

I had no idea what was expecting me.

I think he means during the winter. I'd imagine a Yellowknife winter would be pretty tough. Darkness, isolation, unbearable temps...ahh....

Well, only the big 3, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver offer this. The rest aren't much different. Why don't you move there if you want "modern, hyper technological, bustling cities, a green economy"?

I didn't know! We have such a great image of Canada in Italy, even though someone who traveled here warned me about the some of the cons.
I must be sincere, if I knew I would have never ever moved here (even though there are other reasons).

So Pallo, think twice. On a side note, do you know that the singer of the cat empire is from Melbourne??? You should think twice before moving

My G parents are from Roblin Manitoba.

I have never been there but feel a strong urge to visit some day.

Is anything going on up there?

I hear the provential park to the south is cool.

I feel it is like kind of my destiny to settle in the Peg some day.

Tell me why I should or should not.

thank

bnk

I guess what I'm asking is why don't you move now? If it's so terrible, you have the option of leaving for bigger, better cities. What is stopping you?

Sorry to be nosy, but I am curious.
