^^ I have to disagree with part of this. Words are important and they have incredible power, especially if used without wisdom - and this is especially true for people in significant leadership roles in any arena, but it also applies to average folks.

Back on topic, I'm excited to see what happens with Tesla in Austin and I welcome opportunities for technological innovations to propel us forward as a society - especially if they can help us to have smaller carbon footprints.

I mean, he got high with his girlfriend and tweeted out a 420 joke that got him in trouble with the SEC.

I think he is a smart guy with a bad case of STEM brain and an outsized ego.

This is taking a weird path. We should probably do more posting related to the actual building, construction, land, etc. and less about love or hate for Elon

I disagree with both of you.

We should only pay attention to people whose words and actions are in concordance with each other and purposeful such that both they and all others with whom they engage have mutual understanding of their words and actions.

Edit:

So... don’t pay attention to me?

Big news today with TSLA being added to the S&P 500. Would make landing the HQ that much sweeter.

The bold part might be a bit tough with this verbose reply...

But I get what you're saying.

Mark my words, Austin is the best thing to happen to Tesla and vice versa. You can bet that Boring Company and Neuralink will follow. It’s like Dell on steroids and cocaine with a little bit of moon dust.

No need to place bets. It’s already happened.

NeuraLink already began hiring at their new Austin office

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.blo...n-austin-texas

The Boring Company has also started hiring at a new Austin office

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.kxa...the-works/amp/

Austin already has a PayPal office (a former Elon Musk company), has a SpaceX facility 60 miles north in McGregor, TX where they build and test rocket engines, and is building a Tesla facility in Austin.

All 5 current and former Elon Musk companies are in Central Texas now. Now the wait for the HQ relocations begins because it’s only a matter of time now.

You know, we think of the factory location as being too Far East for the HQ but if you think in the long term that a metro is centered by the airport then....

I think it may be too far for executives driving in from places like Westlake and Lake Travis (best schools) each day.

Who says the HQ would be required to be near the factory? I'd wager a guess the if Elon moves any of his HQs to Austin, they would be located in the CBD, Domain, Barshop & Oles' redeveloped Brodie Oaks center, or the like.

Dell's house is in West Lake Hills (off of Toro Canyon). His 6D ranch is off of Bee Cave Road - near Bee Cave. Doesn't seem to bother him.

I mean, the Boring Company might be here simply to executives to and from the office.

No one said that. I'm saying it will be. Probably between 130 and 973.

I'm saying if the HQ moves to Austin then it will be a part of the Austin Green Campus. I think companies who are looking in the long term are seeing that the Austin Airport is really the center of the Metro and the current metro makeup is based on the decades of the airport being off 35.
