It looks like it's halfway done putting up its deflector shields.

A Klingon Bird of Prey wouldn’t have much problem penetrating this poor shielding.

Not to be a buzz kill, but they haven't filed a site plan yet. So we are probably a year and a half away from a groundbreaking. But now that they have HLC approval to move forward, we should see a filing soon.

Oh damn, I'm super late on this but this little glimpse of the tower portion has me thinking that this might be my favorite tower project in a decade.

Who is this architect and how can we get him/her more work in Austin?

It's SCB. They also designed Hanover's last two Austin apartment towers - Hanover Republic Square and Northshore.

what would you guess is the typical time between site plan filing and breaking ground? 1-2 years?

Since Hanover has a good track record in actually building what they propose, I would say 1 1/2 years.

The site plan for their sister project - Hanover Republic Square - took 16 months to get approved. It was first filed in August 2018, and approval happened in December 2019. If you consider the time from when they filed their first demo permit to the time they received their construction permits, it took 19 months.

High praise to Hanover - WOW. This thread was just created on Thanksgiving and they've made so much progress already!

Just a curious question

Just a curious question.....it's 498 feet, why not add two feet and make it an even 500?

Economics has a bigger seat at the table than vanity - except for the Fairmont apparently. But even then, if they added just 5' to that spire they would have had a 600 footer. This project will probably will be over 500' with mechanical. The 498' height is the roof height in the building massing.

Developers really don't care about hitting arbitrary height thresholds. They are generally meaningless to them. They are not nearly as OCD as some of you guys.
