Walked by today and it's so, so slim in person. It's really amazing, tbh. Great proof of concept if anyone else who owns a slice of Congress wanted to go high, too.

You gotta love the aesthetics of that block. I feel like it's one of the most interesting in downtown. And, hey, 823 Congress might not look so out of place once this is finished.

Yep, it really does continue things up Congress. Hopefully someday we see this usually quiet part of Congress tie in with the old bakery/Capital/North Congress Mall.

The webcam was zoomed out, and the entire crane can be seen. 44 East is starting to make itself known.

Totally! I am absolutely in love with this and it hasn't even really begun to take shape. I think this shows we absolutely need more projects like this

Hopefully, it starts a trend. I actually think we should have a law requiring towers to only be thin, in order to add density/diversity.

Well, if density is your goal then bigger buildings are better since a bunch of little ones on a block would still have to obey fire codes and setback from each other - creating dead space between them. But this type of building is totally appropriate on blocks such as this one where it's unreasonable to think anything will be replacing the Paramount Theatre anytime soon.

This is the tower in Austin right now that screams "the economics of this city have shifted radically" more than any other.

Exactly why I'm want the BBVA tower built. Talk about tall and skinny.

This.

The skinniness of the building is actually proof that the unit profit (hotel room, condo, etc) is high enough to subsidize the building of a tower with relatively few overall units. It’s a high profile address for sure, and the unit profit will reflect that. But still. It’s for sure a sign of the $$$ pouring in to town.

This one is just as beautiful as I thought it would be and it's not even complete yet.

It makes all those years that I waited for this one so much better. Gorgeous building guys. My favorite of all of the Austin projects that I've seen (though when the supertall starts, that will take #1 on my list).

Yep, it's already a winner in my book. I hope to see more of these slender no parking podium towers pop up outside of downtown someday.
