Now that there's been a riot at the BD site, SWFC will have even more time to shine when it becomes worlds tallest.

Giallo, I don't think that is the site for the third supertall. The third should be on the other side of Jin Mao from the Pearl Tower. Closer to SWFC than Jin Mao, making a triangle with the three buildings. Maybe the site that is being cleared in the background of the pictures in post#901.

This site is between Jin Mao and the Pearl Tower. This site is also being cleared at present. I have seen it in several pictures as well as walking past it in January.

The third supertall will be placed in the plot currently occupied by a cricket yard or whatever is that. Between Jin Mao and Skyline Mansion:

My bad, guys. I get confused with all the potential developments in Lujiazui.

Bob, the SWFC has reached the 31th floor with the steel up to the 26th.

Don't get confused, Giallo. You are doing great with all those updates! Anyways, did you get in trouble again, taking another picture of SWFC from the bankbuilding across the Park? Or do they let you in now?

Nope, no trouble. I haven't gone up to the Presidential Suite since the last time I got booted. I've taken the latest updated pictures from the 20th floor. No one bothers me there.

This is the site, Fabb. Looks like they are starting to put the foundations in etc. The are prepping the site for the shorter tower at the top.

The core is not ahead of the floors by that much. IFC2 looked very different during its construction.

^Yep. I worked ahead a bit.

There is a lot going on in this tower. You could actually take pics every 3 days and notice significant changes.

Updated 4-10-06?

Does anyone know why they have these large diaganol braces?

In my architecture class today we talked about fires in buildings and my professor said in modern towers they use large diaganol beams to allow the top part of a building to fall off in the event of a collapse insead of pancake down to around the core.
