One Blackfriars Soon to Top Off in London
Quote:
progress at the site of One Blackfriars in London has been moving along nicely, and the 52-storey, mixed-use, 152-room, 274-unit hotel and residential tower will soon top off. With a bold cantilevered design by SimpsonHaugh and Partners, the St. George-built tower is set to redefine the southern bank of the Thames upon its completion in early 2018.

The level of badassery on London's skyline is just staggering.

Love it! How long before Londoners give this one the nickname: "The Bulge"?

Great glass. I must even be a bit jealous, though I'm not sure.
Haha.

Just wondering about the engineering properties of these nice looking materials.
Notice it seems to actually be a 2nd layer to cover a 1st skin, so the building is very insulated.

The same is often required by construction regulations here, so towers are less energy-greedy.
Looks like an excellent job to this one.
