New England via planes, trains, and automobiles

My wife and I took a trip to NYC, Boston, and Maine at the end of September. My dad and his wife joined us for part of the trip. We had a great time eating delicious meals and seeing some friends we hadn't seen in many years.

New York City

Mystic, CT. We ate lunch at Mystic Pizza, famous from the 1980s movie with the same name.

Boston

There's a bunch of turkeys in Boston

The Green Monstah

The Sox beat up on the hapless Orioles 19 - 3.

And we scored some Pedro Martinez bobbleheads!

Portland, Maine

Civil War-era fort en-route to Peaks Island.

Peaks Island.

More Portland

A healthy meal of poutine and cider at Duck Fat.

Coastal Maine.

We saw this little bird (Antonov-124) at BWI on our way home.

I really need to get back down for another road trip through New England. I miss my car.

Always nice to see that other Portland.

Great pics, I will be back home for the first time in two years from tomorrow, and this is a nice table setting.

Imagine if that coin toss had ended up tails . . . you'd be saying, "Always nice to see that other Boston."

This is Portland, the west coast version is the "other" Portland.

I think Portland, ME is often overlooked and is a gem. The winters are harsh, but the setting, history and the built form are spectacular.
