Nothing exciting happening here, just a bunch of front end loaders digging a deeper hole. They rarely use the cranes... On a side note, closing the outside lane of S 1st between Riverside and Barton Springs; creates a traffic headache.

In time it will only get less convenient to travel in the least efficient way--single occupant vehicle. Hope the city goes with Option D in November--All the Above! Build the tunnel!

I agree. But on another subject since you are on the PC. Does the Block 190 ZC request to get the site added to the Downtown Density Bonus program have to go through the PC only or PC and CC? Or can it be done administratively? It sure is taking a while.

These cranes are really dominant from the Dawson/Zilker area.

Just seeing this. Which site is that? The Downtown Austin Plan is good about allowing for things to be done administratively (the single biggest thing the NIMBY-leaning policy makers didn't like about it). Sadly, it left out huge areas that should be considered as part of downtown (a small number of SF homeowners got their way big time here).

From demo to the 4th floor in a year and half isn't bad when dealing with underground parking.

I can't find any definitive renderings or info, but I'm guessing there are only a few under ground parking levels and more above ground. So for the most part, they are still working on an above ground parking garage along with a portion of the office tower, so things should pick up once the tower dominates the construction. But it truly does seem to be taking a long time to get to this point, especially since we started talking about this project 3 1/2 years ago.

This building is hefty. You can already get a sense of the size. It may not be tall, but it's the most significant building being built south of the river since One Texas Center and for the near future will dominate South Shore Central.
