The Proscenium is more on a scale of Colony Square and would look much more appropriate in Buckhead, or Perimeter, or Cumberland.

Maybe at the time it was constructed the market in Midtown was a lot less robust and so they ended up building small scale. But you just know when 1180 was getting built right next to it, the Proscenium people where probably thinking "we could have really unlocked the potential of this site a lot better than what we did", while they stared up at it in envy.
Actually, I've read and seen elsewhere that Promenade, the building you're talking about was just one of several buildings to be built, and in fact, this one was to be the shortest.

Proscenium is different than Promenade.

I really like the design. Has this been officially announced yet. I did a google search and nothing comes up for Mandarin Oriental Atlanta.

Thats an awesome picture of the whole development. I think its the Promenade buildings you're talking about. I was referring to the shorter building built at 14th and Peachtree back in 2001-2002.

Not officially but they're "talking" with Mandarin according to the ABC article.

P.S. WOW! I'm glad they never built the other two Promenades...one is definitely enough!

^ gotta agree with that one, rob. i'm also glad one atlantic didn't turn out as originally planned either. both of those seemed to be almost like suburban office complexes in their original multi-tower designs; having more variety just seems more organic and urban, if i could possibly attribute the latter quality to describe midtown.

^^^^^^^

I think that's a bit of an illusion, since it's only gonna be about 50 feet taller than 1180.

However, I think the lighting scheme will certainly help it to stand out on the skyline.

This is Awesome. Its going to transform the skyline. I drove south down Peachtree through midtown last night and took a look at where its going right next to the Proscenium. 14th and Peachtree is going to be tizight with skyscrapers once this thing gets built.

Yeah, it is. Sadly, I guess this means we'll never see 13th street connected over to the Crescent side

On a lighter note, I've never realized that the nasty car wash on the lot across the street (future site of 12th and Midtown Phase III) actually had "Car Wash" painted on top of it.

Yeah, that's wild. I just zoomed in on the 1010 webcam and you can actually see it! What an eyesore for people in the surrounding towers!

This area will be very dense when 12th and Midtown is completed.

That's no way to talk about residents of this area, we have many of them on this board, have some sensitivity!

Great looking tower. Is there a larger rendering of it and its surroundings?
