Downtown Dallas to become home to Texas' tallest supertalls?

The Dallas Metropolis website is atwitter with excitement as more details emerge on Harwood International's recently unveiled Harwood Forum complex development. More specifically the tall twin towers joined by a skybridge.

Harwood published on 08-26-15 the height for its twin towers at 1080 feet.

Texas' current tallest supertall is 1002' at 75 stories. Using the number of floors in the 1002' tall structure that would make Harwood Forum's towers 80-81 stories tall.

Yehaw! We'll all be watching this one with great excitement!

Nice! I hope it's not pie in the sky and actually happens.

The towers are a little weird though. They'd be better without the bridge.

They remind me a little of Manhattan West but not juxtaposed.

It does appear this has some actual legs to it.

I think it'd be a perfect spot for a new hotel flag, such as Mandarin Oriental, to come into the market. Needless to say that between this and the Perot proposal, Dallas' high rise profile may be taking a leap upwards.

Nice to see Dallas may be joining the Supertall game. Can we get a link to the article? Just renderings were posted. Please post all sources.

As for the design, overall it's nice but I hate the skybridge connecting the two. Just make it two separate towers or all one tower.

I hope this happens. Its a beautiful design. I think Singapore when I see this. Amount of construction spending in Dallas is off the charts.

Ross Perot tower could also be another tall one. He is seeking top talent, so we will see. Still, if its 800 ft lets just say, but with a good design, its a win-win for us all.

We've seen several cities outside NY and CHI get or propose supertalls lately, Philly, LA, SF, I think it's time Dallas join that club. Incredibly exciting news.

Actually, looking at the second rendering, looks like they are all in a circle getting high.

The bridge is an amazing feature for tenants.

It could host a pool for a hotel (Mandarin Oriental, Peninsula, etc.) located at the top of the tower.

Interesting that the bridge faces to the north - away from the downtown core - as if Frisco and Ponder are interesting to look at way off in the distance (no offense to my friends who call Frisco and Ponder home

I like the bridge for sure. Do wish the downtown facing side was more prominent. Surely the design for this is'nt final just yet.

It wouldn't surprise me that if they did want a heavily landscaped sky deck that they faced it north-northwesterly to counteract, to some degree, the predominant stiff southerly winds.

...so this is across the Woodall Rodgers Expy from the main part of downtown...?
That would do a lot to spread the skyline out.....Most of the buildings in that area are 10-25 floors.....

True! But I actually kind like that effect on buildings of this height. Ditch the bridge and these buildings are stellar.

Yes, it would. It is in an area that "threads the needle" between the approaches to Love Field, sort of how parts of Brickell do in Miami, thus allowing for greater height potential.
