It is low hanging fruit. No new structures. Close two intersections. Build two lanes in each direction.

The 149 St flyover could be done sometime within 10 - 20 years.
But please don't quote me on that.

Breaking ground on Highway 19 west twinning

March 29, 2021 Media inquiries
Twinning will reduce the chances of a head-on collision for the nearly 10,000 commuter and commercial vehicles that travel Highway 19 each day.

The 3.5-kilometre twinning project will improve the movement of goods to major highways, rail services and the Edmonton International Airport while creating approximately 400 jobs when they’re needed most.

The federal government is providing $27.7 million to Phase 2 of the Highway 19 twinning project.

Tree clearing has started along the Yellowhead at St Albert Trail. There is fencing up in the Parking lot of the Casino and Drainage equipment at 144st.

And So it begins.

Is this also the second ring road route? Devon to Beaumont. Then onward to highway 21 in the future.

^ The signs now direct you to exits for 107 Ave, River Valley Road, Victoria Park Road and Emily Murphy Park Road, plus Groat Road for both NB and SB.

I didn't realize they were an issue.

The QE2 south of 41 Ave is the province's responsibility, yes?

Yes, province's responsibility.

They repaved the southbound stretch in 2008, and again it got some attention when they added the 4th lane a few years ago.

But I really do not recall the last time the northbound stretch was repaved. It is crumbling bad.
