I fully support gay rights. Further, I'm not remotely offended by the photos of buff guys with their packages bulging through their bikinis.

Nonetheless, the double-standards on the internet are comical, because if I posted photos of women in thongs, many would charge that they're offensive.

Apart from that commentary, these photos are awesome, as is LA. Like Randy Newman, I love LA.

^^^ I don't think that's necessarily true. I've seen many photo threads on here of festivals like Caribana and Carnival with scantily-clad women without much pushback. The people in the photos are putting themselves out there for the world to see.

Ahh, the beach and the hills, my favorite areas of SoCal. Love that stretch along the southern edge of the Santa Monica Mountains/Hollywood Hills, from Hollywood to Santa Monica (basically Santa Monica Blvd).

Wondering if the Hotel Carmel by the Sea is still there in Santa Monica. In 1989, a group from work went to a conference in Anaheim, and 4 of us decided to stay for three extra days. Based on a brochure, we decided to stay at the Hotel Carmel by the Sea in Santa Monica. When we checked in, we found that it was essentially in skid row, several blocks from the beach, and the hotel was in disrepair. No working phones, no working TVs, etc.. But we stayed and got used to it. To this day, my friends from where I worked at the time still laugh about that experience. We did have a great time sightseeing (especially Universal Studios) and dining out at some great places in Santa Monica.
