As much as I wish they had extended the glass curtain wall to the ground, I do love the concept of the sky lobby and hope that becomes the norm. it's much better (IMHO) to have an active street level with restaurants and retail than a giant open lobby (300 Colorado, Frost, Google bldg, etc etc) that eats up valuable street frontage.

i agree and i also agree this will become more normal going forward.

street level interaction - first floor
parking - x floors
public area - 1 (soon 2 imo) floors
office/residential - rest of building

You can do both! Lots of Wall St firms double-up with first floor high-security lobbies and a sky lobby because they don't want their employees congregating near the street.

They were already testing the lighting on the front side of this building last night. Looked nice.

Wow -- that V-shape is actual lighting? I actually like that.

I actually . . . think I'm starting to like this building.

NOBODY QUOTE ME ON THAT.

this is higher up in this thread but its unlikely the rainbow stairwells will happen. no inside info just been around long enough to be suspicious of renders with details like that

True, or maybe it will be like the Fairmont -- they'll install the lighting, show it off during the testing phase, then the building won't hire anyone that actually knows how to use it for the first 8 months!

It looks like a tucked-in blue denim shirt muffin top that needs the wrinkles ironed out, belt pulled too tight in the middle, and a pair of dusty Carhartts at the bottom

When I heard the developer talk about this building at a ULI Fall meeting he shared that it began as a 100% parking tower. Then they realized what office rents were in ATX. Could have been worse...
