Morgan is also a "progressive." Her ideals and platform is not that much different from Pool's.

I think they're extremely different. The "issues" on their respective campaign websites are nearly diametrically opposed.
I mean if you were to ask them about North Korea policy they might say something similar. But locally they fit pretty neatly into urbanist vs. neighborhood preservationist.
Pool is a pretty typical aging hippie sort of progressive - she's a progressive in her own head and on international/national-level big picture stuff but when it comes to ground-level politics she's basically dead center or center-right. "Protect" and "preserve" are her major themes. I mean Pool's whole reason for being is to avoid as many big changes as possible to her comfortable central Austin existence.
Morgan appears to be coming from a younger, more justice-minded version of progressivism. Equity is a major theme for her. Her being bilingual is pretty cool considering Pool has been perfectly comfortable completely ignoring anyone from the northern end of D7 outside of the Gracywoods Neighborhood Association.
I would expect Morgan to operate much more like a Casar than a Pool.
I actually believe pretty strongly that Morgan's candidacy forced Pool to take a much stronger stance on the police funding issue than she would have otherwise. I can't think of a single non-development vote or position Pool has taken that would not have been taken by any other generically "progressive" CM. It does not appear that Morgan would stay similarly anonymous when it comes to advancing a "progressive" agenda.
As for making this relevant to the stadium, both are in favor of Project Connect, which is really all that matters now in determining the fate of the McKalla Red Line station. For what it's worth, despite Pool's vigorous opposition to the stadium, she does appear to be happy about having a new train station there.
