Modern Rowhouses?

Hi there. Sometime ago I posted a thread about row houses for rich people and it generated an interesting discussion. People posted lots of pics, and there were photos of some fantastic modern/futuristic rowhouses.

Unfortunatelly, I cant find the thread anymore, and also, I am having bad luck making a search for such cool rowhouses at google.

Thus, I wonder if you guys know any examples of such rowhouses?

How about these in Philadelphia? These blow the socks of any suburban mcmansion (of course they cost 3-4 times as much)!

These are just a few blocks north of the CBD in center city and feature:

5,000 sq. ft!
4 floors!
4 bedrooms!
4 bathrooms!
an elevator!

and...........a massive (can anyone say excessive?) 4 car garage!

asking price? $2.3 million (i believe there is only 1 remaining).

more info and pics at: http://www.philadelphialuxuryhomes.c...07-07-01.html#

because of LOCATION only, I suppose. A "McMansion" at downtown Philadelphia would be prohibitive in price.

5,000 sq. ft! (hmmm... how much is that in sq meters?)
4 floors!
4 bedrooms! (my house too!)
4 bathrooms! (my house too!)
an elevator!

Now, these are some nice rowhouses, but in the thread I spoke before, people some posted some even nicer, more modern looking ones.

Here are a couple examples from Denver:

From Denverinfill.com

The last one from denver-cityscape.com:

I like most of these buildings right now; I just hope they age as well as their traditional counterparts. Denver has definitely gained quite a stock in modern/contemporary rowhouses, and they are still being built at a frantic pace.

I really like the stuff that Onion Flats is doing in Fishtown and Northern Liberties. And their stuff is LEED certified.

There is a little one block wide by 1 mile long strip of a neighborhood in Tulsa where a lot of these are going in, replacing a bunch of old bungalos. The area is called "Cherry Street".

Not as nice as what you all have in the big cities, but hey, its a start lol. There are some new ones coming online that look to be a bit nicer and more interesting.

Not a Rowhouse but in the same area. I really like the rusted steel sides and raw wood.

Nearby is this "Modern Bungalo?"

Here are some newly built rowhomes in my hometown Ystad, Sweden.

Pics from the architect's webpage: http://www.karmeback-architects.com/kartritaren.php

Pic by me

The Cherry Street developments looks a little cramped. The houses on the left side of the picture either look into the living rooms across the street or a big wall. Maybe I'm missing something there.

Yeah they do good stuff, definitely refreshing in the sea of red bricks known as Philly.

I can totally respect these rowhouses. More 'modern' ones are just ugly for me

Here's some examples of what baltimore builds recently

I think sharp contrasts of modern rowhouses to the older city looks horrible. I like the blending of similar architecture
