I think you mean GLG Grand?

But yes, I agree. This is kind of like Buckhead's GLG Grand/Four Seasons.

Mansion could have used a mansard style roof like the Elysian in Chicago (a sort of resemblence to Mansion)

Don't worry, guys. When I buy the building in a few years I'll make the top look nicer. Maybe I'll even build out a private residence for myself under it.

I think its just a fence that will be removed to reveal a spectacularly ornate crowning. At least one can hope.

Someone had mentioned a while back that the Peachtree Rd. lowrise portion didn't match the tower at all, and I hoped he was exagerating... unfortunately that photo proves he wasn't. I just don't get it... how does something like that happen? That and the crown really detract from what could have been a first-rate development. IMO.

The crown turned out much stumpier than it looked from the renderings. IMO, it would look much better if about twice as tall. I guess I will have to update my diagram to reflect what was built.

That would be better, but from the initial renderings I pictured a crown about four or five stories tall covered in gilt gold... that would have been more in keeping with the rest of the building.

Isn't the thing under construction? How can you even know what is behind the fence? Why are we prematurely assuming the worse?

What we're seeing is what we're getting. You can see behind the structure/facade and it's empty space. It's got little lightning rods along the top edge and everything.

not sure I understand what the problem is with the crown. I was driving thru buckhead a few nights ago and thought Mansion looked impeccable, top to bottom, crown included.

We might as well stop calling it a crown. It's more or less just a fence.

In my opinion, the "Crown" isn't as disappointing as the buildings at the base (totally different color!).

I think people are just reacting to what was expected in early renderings versus the (almost) finished product. In the early renderings the crown was more prominent.

The most recent rendering actually looks a lot like the real thing IMO but the crown still appears to be slightly shorter.
