Lanterns, Architecture's Jewels

They "make" the skyline, especially at night. What is your favorite lantern in your city?
I recently moved from New York, and although I know which one I'd pick (Chrysler) I'm glad that I don't have to choose. Instead now, Portland. An easy one:

Great topic. Rochester's Bausch and Lomb tower has a literal lantern just below the spire. This building really added a lot to the skyline when it was finished in 1994, especially at night.

A close up of the building's "lantern" can be seen here (the fifth picture entitled "Symmetrical Angels"):

Louisville's Aegon Center lights up like a lantern at night:

Seattle has a few "lanterns". Actually, it has a pretty good amount.

I can think of the Washington Mutual Tower [first picture], the IDX building [first picture], the Space Needle, The Smith Tower, and the PacMed Building.

photo's by me

My favorites are... all of them! But certainly the PacMed, Smith and Space needle are in the top!

Travelers tower in Hartford is...quite bright.

Also, in Worcester, there's a building(600 Main Street) that constantly cycles through the colors of the rainbow at night. It's very striking, but unfortunately I can't find any pictures of it.

Are we talking crowns or laterns, here? The two aren't interchangable nouns. A latern can be a crown or part of a crown, whereas all crowns aren't laterns.

Don't forget 900 North Michigan Ave. in Chicago with its four lanterns that light up at night.
