I didn't take a pix, but 124 Davis is the address.

The Broadway is now well over the construction fence.

Holy crap! When I first glanced at this I thought it said "The Broadway fell over the fence." Gah!

Anyway, if its just now poking over the fence, then at this rate it should be complete sometime before 2015 or so, which means I'll be able to retire to the Devine Rd condos sometime around 2035

If those are the ones I'm thinking of, then they're pretty visible from Broadway, right?

btw, I'd encourage the members who have time to drive around Alamo Hts and Terrell Hills, on streets other than Broadway or New Braunfels. There's a lot more infill going on than you can see from just those roads.

If you drive south on 281 by olmos park, look to the left. It's getting alot more dense.

^^^I love that view. The Broadway alone is going to give things much more of a uptown look. Combine that with what is and is going to be built at Ft. Sam and you have the makings of some potential eye candy.

buildings in that view:

Patterson condos (not sure how tall. maybe 10 stories)
Residential highrise at hildebrand and new braunsfels (i counted 12 stories once i think, don't know the name)
ATT office building (6 or 7 stories)
Office building across from ATT (6 stories)
Incarnate Word retirement community tower (7 or 8 stories)
Broadway crane
Fort Sam medical buildings (no idea how tall)
Various Incarnate word buildings, none very tall, but they add density to that view.
The Towers at Park Lane (retirement building, 23 stories)

currently I would not call this an "uptown" or second downtown, but maybe in a few decades it will become that.

The buildings on Fort Sam that are visible are;
Old BAMC 1 (7 stories plus the tower in the center)
Old BAMC 2 (currently under construction, 6 stories)

They're beginning to set concrete above the second floor columns of the Broadway.

Click on this link to get to the MySA real estate blog.

They've got a link there to a panoramic view of the SA skyline - the future view from the 17th floor of the Broadway!!!

- I would imagine the fireworks display atop the Tower of the Americas would be pretty spectacular from this view.

Our skyline makes me sad from this angle

But the green is so amazing. I have yet to live in a city with as many trees as San Antonio

Kevin, I'll let you buy the unit and then you can invite all of us over to enjoy the fireworks together.

I can't imagine the 17th floor being much more than $700,000.

Ya, the angle is bad as far as the impressiveness of the skyline...

But River North has the potential to really fill in the hole there. DT really struggles in that NE quadrant, but there are good things coming.

And, yes, trees are good.

All it would take to fill in that gap is the Four Seasons Rivercenter hotel and a high-rise taking the place of one of those parking garages between Commerce and Market Steets. Add to that River North, the University Hospital expansion, the fed courthouse/police station, and whatever NuStar might be cooking up, and bingo

We have a winner!!!!

I forgot how great the RiverCenter high-rise hotel would look from that angle...

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

NuStar Energy L.P.
Type Public (NYSE: NS)

Founded April 16, 2001
Headquarters San Antonio, TX, USA

Key people Curt Anastasio, CEO
Bill Greehey, Chairman

Industry Oil and Gasoline, Transportation
Products Petrochemical
Revenue ▲ $5.8 billion (Projected) USD (2007)

Website www.nustarenergy.com

NuStar Energy L.P. (NYSE: NS) is a Fortune 500 company based in San Antonio. The company was established in 2001 after separating from Valero. The company operates 9,113 miles of pipeline and 85 terminal facilities across six countries allowing allowing for the storage of almost 80 million barrels of oil making NuStar the second largest independent liquids terminal operator in the world.[citation needed]

In November of 2007 the company announced that it would purchase CITGO Asphalt Refining Co. for $450 million. This move makes NuStar the largest asphalt refiner on the East coast.[1]

The rumor within NuStar is that the company will be building a HQ here in SA sooner than later - currently they are in leased space. Fueling any DT HQ speculation is the fact that the Chairman (Greehey) is the driving force behind Haven for Hope in DT SA.

That SA real estate blog has lots of cool info, including a condo project in Selma, close to Retama Park, pictures of solar panels being installed at Pearl Brewery, and Vespa Alamo Hts moving closer to downtown (still on Broadway, tho not quite in River North).
