I hate when towers like this, The Gem tower and 3 WTC get height cut, they just get lost in the concrete jungle as hidden gems

The damage is done. The best we can hope for now is another tower of equal quality that will rise as tall or taller than the pack. Even at 1,250 ft though, this one would have been behind. It should be 2,000 ft.

Try to schedule the landing for LaGuardia and take 495 (LIE/BQE) to the MidTown Tunnel.

You will be shocked to see especially how Long Island City has gone (and still going) dramatically vertical.

Not to get too far off topic but I disliked 8 Spruce when I saw it in pictures after construction. However when I saw it in person I really liked it. It's how it plays with the light. It's one of those buildings that you really have to see in person to admire properly, imo.

That being said, I like 8 Spruce but I still think Verre is better.

8 Spuce is a nice building, and one of the best Downtown. But it's no contest here.

Still the fairest of them all...

Wow. Geesh, maybe. That would be one hell of a bold statement considering some of the modernist masterpieces around town. I love Seagrams and Citigroup and Chase and Pan Am. And of the newer stuff, Renzo Piano's NYTimes Tower is hard to beat. Also, I know I'm in the minority but I love 1WTC, and am constantly grateful for the skyline-restoring effect it has had downtown. And I don't know if Via 57 counts as a tower, but that building is absolutely insane. But yeah, this may be the best since ESB

I don’t like how this building looks from the side, or the height, should’ve been taller, I couldn’t even spot it without looking hard flying back to NY, very disappointed, is beautiful from up close front and back. I guess since they reduced the height, they made it chubby from the sides. 111 w 57 st superior and best post war nyc in my opinion.
