That area is just construction hell right now with all the 500+ footers going up on one side of the street and all the work being done (sewer pipes I think???) being done on the other side, plus some work being done to Biscayne itself.
Wow, you really don't get the scale of this building until you see it in context. It's massive. Thanks for the pics.

Whoa nice shot, its sick to see the size of marinablue, from there its makes ten museum about 4x smaller than marina blue. And to think that 900 biscayne and marquis will probably be wider than marinablue is kinda scary.
A pic taken by SSC forumer archifreese from his apt. window, notice the people going to the Heat game across the street (by the way, thats the 56-story Opera Tower under construction in the background on the right, just another anonymous 500+ footer going up around Miami):
A construction worker plummeted to his death Monday evening from a downtown skyscraper on Biscayne Boulevard, closing streets to rush-hour traffic and well into the night.
The worker had been standing on a concrete crane platform at the Marina Blue condominium, under construction at Northeast Eighth Street and Biscayne Boulevard. The platform broke beneath him around 6:30 p.m., fire-rescue officials said.
A colleague also fell, but was saved by his safety harness. Co-workers coached that man back onto the building and he was taken to the hospital for treatment.
City of Miami Police and Fire-Rescue officials had not determined what might have caused the crane's platform to crack, although winds were strong at sunset.
Biscayne Boulevard, Northeast First and Second avenues, and Northeast Fifth through 10th streets were all closed to traffic Monday night, out of concern that the large yellow crane that runs up the full length of the condo building might collapse
damn. this is the first i've looked at this thread and the first i've seen the project so i was gonna comment on how cool it looks (especially next to the freedom tower), but then debbie downer comes in and says about the dead crane worker. sorry to hear that.
