I really can't wait till they put that facade on the garage and complete the retail spaces that goes along with it, that way I can give my final opinion on how well it looks attached to the building. On a side note, they're just about done installing the windows on the tower. Just one more floor and the crown part to do(which i'm sure will be non transparent glass installed) and that'll be it for now till they get rid of the service elevators and put the glass in it's place.

I am curious as to how exactly the glass will look on the crown as well. I hope it blends in well and is seen as one piece, as in the renderings. But the crown looks a little further to the back and not completely against the building. It's Thursday, so they could be finished with the glass on the 23rd floor by Monday.

^^ The structure looks set back slightly, but it has the actual attachment pieces projecting out several inches (maybe a foot). So I think the glass crown pieces will be flush with the rest of the building. I can't see them making such a big mistake.

I really don't care if anybody gives it a nickname. I just thought the Bart Simpson thing was funny. In the end, I'm just happy that San Antonio is getting an awesome new building.

Great photos, Raul! Thanks for taking 'em.

I would love to see pics of the top of the roof. Looks a bit more complex than just AC units.

I’m sure whatever clips they use to attach the glass curtainwall glass to the steel will be the right dimensions to make it be flush.

I am excited that the building is close to complete, but I am not looking forward to the cranes coming down.

It truly is beautiful. I'm excited to see what the glass will look like on the crown. A much needed building finally graces our skyline. And when lit at night, downtown will have gained something extraordinary against the backdrop of a great night life San Antonio offers.

I think once the crown is finished, they will light it up at night.

Beautiful picture as always Raul.

It's a grand design, but IMO, still 100 feet too short. :p

Again, JUST MY OPINION nabobs. No need to pile on with your BS.

Yep, I agree with you. Beautiful design. But I’m looking at it and thinking “great, now where’s the top half?”

Also, how ironic is it that people would join a forum literally called “skyscraper page” and then tell you to shut up about wanting taller buildings?

I think a good majority of us feel the same way about the height of the frost tower. The tower has feelings too you know! Poor thing...

It is what it is. Though, however, in the latest posted picture, I see decades worth of downtown landmarks. The first office building to be constructed in 30 years, the last office building in constructed in 30 years, the first skyscraper to have AC, a building with architecture only to be described as "rough" (old Chase) and more.

I think the FT is absolutely perfect! One of the best I've ever seen! Not trying at all to change anyone's opinion at all, I get the height thing! Hopefully now that its here, other glass towers will be built with height & great archecture!
