I'm glad to see the Procenium project is officially dead. And I'm not shocked. I expected this from its announcement. Not because of the economy, but because this project was not feasible. It was a ludicrous proposal. Now that the property is up for grabs, I hope it gets developed wisely. It has great potential and could serve the city well if it is handled by people of intelligence, which means Sandy's mayor could not be involved.

Deer Valley's new St. Regis

The St. Regis will employ 300. It has sold 2/3 of its units. The top floor units, selling for $10 million each, have all sold out.

That's a good market to build upon for the Metro. That level tends to be much more resistant to recession. I hope it will be the beginning of more Starwood properties for Salt Lake. It would be great to get a Starwood property downtown, like a W. It just doesn't get much better, as far as prestige than Starwood. I wonder how that uber chic resort hotel at Lake Powell is coming along?

A funicular is used to transport patrons from the Snow Park Building to the top of the St. Regis Hotel. (Tom Smart, Deseret News)

E-bay blows. Don't ever do business with those guys unless your a powerseller then you have it made. That's one company I wouldn't mind seeing go down. ( I know that will never happen but I don't like companies that favor only a few people while the little people who are just trying to get by get kicked to the curve. )

From a buyers perspective, E-Bay is great for picking up great deals on a variety of products. However, I would not be that anxious to try and start an at home business as a seller on E-Bay. I guess it works for some though. Kind of like multi-level works for some.

Oh sorry, not really a big deal. Obviously it was too easy to miss. I was caught up by the St. Regis article.

I think it would be cool if the Trax train had to go inside a somewhat large station that is integrated with the airport.
