I don't think our suburbs has a higher density than our Ontarian neighbours.
But it's true to say that we stopped to sprawl by recently trying to go with more densification. As Québec city is not a city of skyscrapers, let's say, it went into gentle densification with midrises (between 5 and 15fl.)
And yes, we have alot of Expressways. We don't don't even deserve a single new one, but simply maintaining them and/or widening them.
In a far future, I only see a new link, east of Québec city to buckle it all with a full expressway system bypassing Québec ( tunnel or bridge )
