Utterly amazing to see it finally die!

It's also impressive that they have managed to get any work done over this winter.

News on the construction.....they will use two very large crawler cranes for the structure construction. They are using this style due to the extremely large roof trusses that require tandem lifts to place. So no tower cranes on this project.

This is huge for downtown Winnipeg. Very happy to see positive progression, and this moving forward

Can't wait till it starts going up.

Welcome to the forum!

I've driven past it for the last week, and it's great to see steel being erected over that godawful parking lot.

This expansion is sorely needed, especially with the ever growing popularity of a few conventions, like the Central Canada Comic-Con, with the amount of people that passed through every year for the last 3 years, and the amount of line ups and inconveniences, and with how it was organized.

Thx for the add 14NM, It's nice to have you onboard.

1 downtown surface parking lot scratched of the list.A great addition to expanding the Pegs convention capacity in the future.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge, but is there still a hotel being built with the expansion? Or was that idea tossed?

Here's another update on the WCC's expansion.

Those cranes are sure working hard and it looks like they're working on the actual form of the building now! It's nice to see this city progressing so quickly so soon into spring. Even though I'm going to be living in Vancouver soon, I'm thrilled things are picking up here

Looking out of my window at work at 3am, it appears that Irmie Demo has started to put some construction fencing in a few places around the Carlton St. side of the Carlton Inn site.

It's not a complete fence setup so I don't know what they are trying to do.

They are doing some asbestos remediation and have to demolish the outdoor pool as apparently it is a safety hazard.
