Another photo I took of Victoria the other day. It was taken from the Songhees walkway, looking towards the neighborhood of James Bay.

I took a few photos today from Royal Bay in Colwood. This was one of the photos. I thought I'd share this tonight.

Beautiful shot of the sky. Starting to fill out from some angles and looking more significant than the city's size of 400,000.

Thank you, It's pretty amazing how fast the city has grown lately.
Here's another photo I took from the same spot with a little less zoom.
Also for a larger photo click on the link and zoom in on it. Looks much better.

Thank you so much Vin.

I took this photo of Vic West today. I was driving in James Bay and noticed this view so I took a quick photo.

Nice zoomed shot Scaper. Crazy to think that on such a small plot of land thousands of more units are coming. If all comes to pass it will one of, if not the densest area of downtown. And yes I can consider it downtown as the bridge across is less than an average Frisbee throw away (Aastra TM).

Great shot Scraper. Crazy the density there now! When I did my undergrad at UVIC, the brown building in the center of the shot was the only high rise that would have existed in the same frame.

I was down in Victoria last week doing some work for Gulf Islands National Park and stayed in the Delta Ocean Pointe. Toured my British co-worker around downtown and enjoyed beverages at Spinnakers, Canoe Brewpub and a few other gems. Really impressed with the development of the downtown area, and how it has matured into a great mix of residential and commercial space. That Esquimalt area across the new Johnson Street bridge blew me away as far as how much has developed along with new buildings planned for development.

Victoria has always been one of my favourite cities in Canada and I always enjoy visiting. Too bad I don’t get down more often.

I agree it is part of downtown, and hence should also have commercial/retail enhanced like city centre streets, and not primarily residential.

Hello Victoria People!

I was wondering if there is any news about the Victoria-Langford Commuter Train? It seems like the report came out right during the start of Covid, did that kill the momentum surrounding the project?

I am interested to know as well! At least have it built to Langford and Colwood area. There are so many attractions around and would be great for tourists to get around the area.

Ottawa's O-train example would be great for the line:
https://ecologyottawa.ca/2019/01/14/...ht-rail-right/

Germany is rolling out Hydrogen fuel cell trains, and would be great to have too if the City does not have money to energize the entire line:

Thanks to everyone's wonderful compliments on my photos. It's most appreciated.

I had never seen that article on a new commuter rail from Victoria to Langford. That's so awesome. I hope it comes to pass. It's really needed. I've always been a fan of an LRT line to the western communities. It's a real shame that Dean Fortin built the new bridge with no rail portions. So short sited and a major failure.

Now that the McKenzie/Admirals interchange is finally finished I wouldn't hold my breath on any commuter rail line being built as it's prohibitively expensive and there's less need for it now than ever

There is always a need for a commuter rail line. Many don't even realize how good it is until the line is built.

I have often made the remark that one thing I miss from Toronto is the GO Train's ease and convenience of hopping on and going down town for the day! Would love to see a commuter rail line to go travel up island, and help the economy in that way! Also would be nice to relax on a day trip like that while waiting for my broken arm to heal! Also belated Happy Easter to you all!

I agree, there's still a real need for the commuter rail to at least Langford. Langford is one of the fastest growing communities in the province and there's a corridor ready for it. I hope it does get built one day.

This was a photo that someone posted on Facebook a few days ago. I thought it was a pretty cool old photo.
