We all know that 1ajs has his troubles with spelling/grammar/punctuation, but to base your respect for someone on something as trivial as those abilities? Wow... Perhaps you'd respect him more if his spelling was impeccable, but he didn't make any significant contributions to the forum?

Congrats 1ajs! Personally, I wouldn't worry about correcting other member's spelling and grammar unless you want to spend every waking hour combing through hundreds of posts. Some things in life aren't worth the effort.

I am just glad the new moderator isn't from Saskatchewan.

The last thing we need is a melonhead moderator with running boards on his Pontiac Grand Am.

Mozilla offers a pretty good spell check program for free, this program has been mentioned numerous times in various Winnipeg threads, it's up to those who need it to a least try it. Spelling abilities do not matter if your posting on a Justin Bieber forum, but on a forum such as this with professionals, students, college and university grads etc. it does matter. Just my two cents.

My concern is more related with the titles of threads and how they are presented. This is what I refer to when I talk about "professionalism". I know that personally, I get put off when a title of a thread looks like it was written by a five year-old. Many Winnipeg threads have been written like this, and I do find that to be rather unacceptable.

I'm not trying to come down on Adrian, but I do want my city and province to be presented on a professional level, and it is a rather large concern that I have.

With all due respect, you should clean up your backyard before complaining about the condition of your neighbors.

With all due respect, I'll express my concerns as I see fit with no specific ill-will intended, thanks.

Congrats to 1ajs.

If you knew 1ajs, you'd know he does try. I know he's not doing it to confound anyone either.

By the way, post count had nothing to do with me picking him. Judge of character was the most important one I considered, as well as making sure the moderator candidate would visit the forum often enough to keep an eye on things. Besides, the last moderator I picked has less than 2,000 posts inside of 5 years.

Exactly.

We don't know the reason for his problems with spelling and grammar, and it is his business if he wants to tell us. What does it matter if his point comes across clearly? (Hypothetically speaking), if someone has a learning disability (dyslexia, etc.) who am I to pass judgement on them?
