You caught the new offices for The Mighty Group in this one. Its small businesses making investments like this that will make these neighborhoods vibrant again.

On Commerce St., I believe they start a few blocks west of New Braunfels Ave. right about when you pass the cemetery and before you get to the bend of the street.

Yea I really think that area has a lot of potential. I can picture lots of mid-rise buildings, maybe 4-5 stories with street level retail and office space and a few 10-15 story apartment units.

Ladies and gentlemen, here is a collage of photos that I took over the New Year holiday of The Embassy Suites restaurant Luke and the unique double-decker riverwalk that lines the restaurant of the Embassy Suites Hotel:

This below is a waterfall that lines the
hotel and is adjacent to the restaurant:

These are shots of the upper and lower decks
of the E.S. riverwalk
:

Here above you can see through the wall of the upper level restaurant riverwalk down to the lower level hotel riverwalk:
Here below is a view of the upper
level restaurant riverwalk overlooking
the lower level of the riverwalk
excellent for catching views of the
river parades:

The picture on the right
shows the Weston Centre Build-
-ing towering above the River-
-walk.
The photo below is
the Houston St. side of the hotel
:

This is a view of the accessible stairwell that goes down to the lower level of the hotel riverwalk:
Here is a shot of a river barge going
past the hotel riverwalk:

I remember when SA had the taller skyline. Now it unfortunately needs a vertically stretched photo to keep up with Austin. Nice contrast though, Arturo.

I haven't seen it in person, but it seems like a lost opportunity to have some nice restaurant fronts at river level. Otherwise it looks pretty good.

The problem with the west bank of the river there where the ES sits is there is a massive 15 foot-high retaining wall that stretches from Houston to Travis. Eliminating that wall might likely have been expensive from an engineering standpoint.

Please remember to post a link to where you found the photos you're posting here (if they aren't your own).
