Small site indeed! A supertall on a tiny plot of land. These construction techniques amaze me.

A weird question

Does anyone know why the parking structure appears to have really thin floor plates?? It seems for such a tall building it would have much thicker floor plates. Was just curious if this building was using some kind of new concrete or technology??

Will the parking garage floor slants be visible at all from the exterior cladding, or will they make it appear straight? from all the models, it appears that the podium section of the tower will have straight horizontal elements, apperently hiding the parking garage ramps. i hope that is the case.

Thinly disguised - in the model at least.

Given that these floor plates are supporting nothing but their own weight and some cars, I don't think the width is out of the ordinary.

It looks like they are obscuring the garage with some sort of vent/screen material kinda like the transfer floors at Trump. Now that's how to do a parking podium! This building is going to be so incredibly slick.

It looks like they only have one or two floors of parking left to go before they get into the next section of this building. The cladding should be showing up in December right? This building will be pretty tall by the time it starts getting glass then.

Its just the scale of the massive concrete columns along Wacker throwing your eyes off. The thinkness of the floor slab is fairly standard.

It would be nice if those vents/screens had some sort of subtle lighting effect on them when the tower is finished - i hope.
