There are plenty of historical reasons for Winnipeggers to be wary of multi-phase projects but here I really can't see why they wouldn't build the residential. The office space will be a slog to get leased but apartments at that location would get rented for sure. If you're already putting the building up anyway the residential seems like a slam dunk.

It would be nice if the Masonic Memorial Centre at 420 Corydon right next to the Osborne Transit Station was redeveloled to high density TOD. Btw how does that building have a Corydon address?

LOL. Croydon is somewhere in London, Engl. Home of the Croydon tram, which I think is celebrating 20 yrs. of service.

Corydon continues as it runs right to the RT/tracks. Same as why the glass repair shop, Fia and Sonix have McMillan addresses. Before confusion corner was made 50+ years ago, that whole area was* just a continuation of Crescentwood.

Yes the Midtown Bridge project tore the heart out of the Fort Rouge area. You can still see a line of old trees running east of Donald, as you look toward the Transitway, that mark where the sidewalk ran in front of people's houses on what was once Wardlaw. I have an old photo (about 1905) of my great grandparents' house at Wardlaw and Clarke, which is probably right in the middle of the Transitway now.

Well, yeah, its common sense that its gonna have Croydon but not our Corydon (Ave.) because the former is more well known in the world.

All you have to do is to Add our Corydon to your spell checker. Hafta do that for Kildonan, Transcona, Kenaston, Bishop Grandin ... have been doin' this for all the software I've been using since Commodore 64 SpeedScript in '85. Just a part of using a computer.

Also have the LanguageTool Add-on with my Firefox browser so that it can also check grammar. Grammarly you have to $ for.

So this map was made somewhere between 1955, when the Midtown bridge was built, and 1965 when the St. Vital bridge was built? Was Van Horne/Tuxedo ever actually built? That looks like the early 1900's plan for Tuxedo/Assiniboine Forest.

Might be something like 1958. The streets in the Assiniboine Forest existed legally, and maybe still do, but they were never opened. These maps were drawn from the city plan and the mapmakers often didn't distinguish between opened and unopened streets.

Van Horne Blvd. might have existed as a dirt road but I don't think there was ever anything on it. It was renamed Tweedsmuir Blvd. for a few years and then most of it was eliminated except one short section that was renamed Mountbatten Ave.
