two new hotels for legacy

there will be 2 more hotels being built inside the legacy urban center. one will be named Aloft by starwood hotels and the other one has yet to be announced. they should start construction within 60 days. i wonder how many floors... it didn't list it. the info is in the new bizjournal that came out today.

Aloft is the limited service brand of W hotels.

I figured The Legacy would get one just because of what kind of development it is. It should do really well.

So the Legacy will have two hotels and then there will be that Staybridge hotel right next to it that's already topped (5 stories).

Isn't Park Place also slated to have a hotel?

Question, from what I've seen of Legacy, most of the retail is up, the only thing not built is the residential/hotel segment (circled) of the development. Is this where the two hotels will go? I ask because having seen the Legacy in person that piece of land seems small compared to what's planned for it. More than likely it'll be quite dense but Matt do you know if maybe Legacy has maybe land outside of the rendering, on the other side of Sonterra Blvd. ie. next to the Staybridge hotel (the X)?

What has not yet been built in legacy is residential/ground floor retail and a hotel and "indie" movie theatre. I know just across the street (where the x in the picture is) there is a hotel under construction.

An indie movie theater? Cool.

I know a boutique movie theater, with first run and indie movies, is going in at The Reflection which is about 3 miles west of Legacy.

Matt now says there are two hotels going in at Legacy, Aloft and another that is yet named. And the X is where the Staybridge is.

From what I have seen, most of the ALOFT hotels (a limited service version of W Hotels) are in the 4-6 story range. There is a 5-story ALOFT proposed for far north Austin, along I-35.

Off topic a bit. Have any renderings been released of Park Place?

Aloft must really be expanding. That's what will be going in with the 360 highrise condo development in NW OKC. It will be in a seperate building from the condo tower and I'm also pretty sure that the Aloft is generally a small scale hotel.
