Some could argue that we don't fully know the scope just yet of the Corona virus (definitely lime and salt is the way to go... ..though I do love me some Modelo too... Hey I'm a light beer guy ) which is true, but looking at what we do know, the percentage of people who have died of the coronavirus is fairly small compared to the overall number that have contracted the virus and survived as well as the number of people who have died from the flu. In fact, There were likely more people than we know of who contracted the coronavirus in China with mild symptoms, didn't get any treatment and have since recovered. Considering all that, more people should be concerned about the flu than the coronavirus but since we deal with different strains of the flu every year, our psyche doesn't really put the flu on the same level as these new strains that pop up.
Nevertheless it is always a good idea to be aware and to be proactive.

wtf are you talking about? flu deaths certainly outnumber covid19 deaths in the aggregate, but the fatality rate for flu is a fraction of that for covid19.
btw, the covid19 outcome breakdown
according to WHO was something like this:
80% mild symptoms - no hospitalization
20% severe or critical - could require significant medical intervention, including from respiratory support machines. the range of outcomes here includes shit like septic shock and organ failure. death rate seems to be around 2% but could change significantly.
freerover's chart show covid19's death rate as a pretty wide range, but either way it's WAY more than the 0.1% of ordinary seasonal flu.
this doesn't mean we need to panic and buy out costco, but we shouldn't ignore this potential threat.
