The only skyscraper I can think of with "perfect" glass is The Shard in London.

i believe the reason the Shard's glass looks so good is the angle of reflection!

but i found this and look at the mid point

You can't really judge the oil canning of the glazing before construction is finished without knowing more details. Someone else may remember the details or be able to speak to this in more detail than I can but I seem to remember a similar argument happening related to the glazing on 150 n riverside. During that discussion someone in the know mentioned something about the glazing being pressurized in some way.

Does anyone else remember this?

Yes, simply put, the glass is not designed to stand alone in an unconditioned space. It is designed to separate conditioned space from the outdoors. When the building envelope is still incomplete all kinds of stuff can distort the final look of the glass.

Wow, based on the glass, I'm think this is going to look much better than the rendering.

Hope this can kickstart the trend of towers with decorative metals panels intermixed with glass...feel like this took so long to achieve with the all these modern towers we had in last 10 years...Chicago is sometimes very stuck in certain patterns with regards to its styles (blue glass galore..very boxy shapes..etc). This modern Art deco is a trend i hope we stay in for a bit though.

They most often do.

Does anyone know the timeline for the underground portion of the Top Down construction? I'd love more info/pictures of the process at this site.

My jeez! This is definitely the tower we will be beyond grateful that they got shovels in the ground before the latest downturn. It's channeling everything that is Chicago's heritage of skyscrapers in one project. Worthy of a name/address as supremely absolute as One Chicago.

Am I an idiot for just now realizing that "One Chicago" is the actual address of this Project? I.e. 1 W. Chicago Ave...

So you're telling me it's not named after the Dick Wolf NBC TV Series? Haha ya dingbat

I am loving the smokey glass and limestone-colored panels. This is gonna be a beaut.

^ So to that point, are the panels limestone (slightly cream/brown) or grey in color? In earlier photos, they appeared grey, but in the latest set they appear more limestone in color. Hard to tell from 2,000 miles away. My eyesight just ain't what it used to be...

I think I got it wrong on 110 N Wacker panels, so I will leave it to the experts to answer this.
