Bertram building looks awesome, but a bit of an error in that rendering of it. Image shows Bernard and St Paul as a 4 way intersection. Look at the cars.

Good eye! I'd consider that more misrepresentation than error though.

Quick drive through Downtown today, sorry didn't have time for pics but some general updates:
Brooklyn is FLYING! Looks at least at floor 16-17 by now. One Water West Tower is on the third floor above the podium and moving quickly. Landmark 7 is now well above the podium (looks about 2 floors above) and should be peaking out above the Landmark mid-rises soon.

Lastly, noticed significant construction fencing and an excavator around the old Monaco site on St. Paul. Anyone have any updates on this? If something substantial goes in there adjacent to the UBCO campus, that area will be fantastic density.

Cheers

Landmark 7

This is Landmark 7 from Saturday. Anybody see what the plans are for the two sides that are currently massive concrete walls with no windows of any kind? Hard to imagine what they plan to do there to make it not so ugly and imposing.

They'll probably apply paneling of some sort. I hope so, because if not, ouch!

Also, possible building in the future butting up to it.

Grow vines on the wall that turn crimson red in autumn.

Simple floor plate, once the forming crew gets a grasp it can fly up in no time.

Super stoked to see the density going in.

The building looks kind of gross from Harvey Ave.

Agreed. Being the size it is, it should feature a mural or another public art installation.

I got a pamphlet in the mail a few days ago seeking public opinion about a 20 floor rental building + townhouses at 1451-1469 Bertram street. There was a picture of the massing included which I’ll see if I can upload tomorrow! ✌🏼

Interesting, it's BC housing. Big project for Kelowna. 200 units, mostly affordable rental with some market rental. 186 units in the tower and 14 affordable townhouse units.

That's welcome news.

Its great to see downtown begin to fill in with density.

Very, very exciting.

Wow this looks so good. And the fact that it will be affordable housing makes it all that more exciting. I love the densification of downtown. This is exciting news. Hopefully more units will be available to people with disabilities. This will be good for nearby businesses. Probably great for the Safeway that's nearby.

Are those actual renderings? I'm pretty sure that they are just precedents of the form proposed.

Bertram opening sales

I'd say that looks like a success.

Nice! I guess that means we are guaranteed another major tower in downtown Kelowna.

Will they build the office tower at the same time?
