I followed on Twitter. Seemed to be a lot of complaints about the format.

Either way, I don't think anything is going to change at this point. We are in for a large Liberal majority government. It seems most people aren't taking anything Davis says objectively and McCurdy or the NDP just can't be taken seriously. Liberals are a shoo-in for the main reason they are not the PCs.

Seems that way. I thought Davis was easily the best in the debate, and many seemed to agree with that. However, people desire change for some reason and it doesn't seem like they care who says what.

And Davis likely was the best. Unfortunately he is carrying too much baggage and the PCs best before date has passed. I understand the desire for change, but in this instance I don't see things changing for the better under the team of Liberals. Nor the NDP for that matter. I think McCurdy was a bad choice and it seems to me like Lorraine is still running the show. I think the NDP will be lucky if they get one seat.

My thought is that the Liberals will be a mediocre government at best. Shortly after the PCs are voted out, people will forget about the reasons that they wanted them out and the Liberals will have created a new list of problems to contend with. A year from now the liberal support won't be anywhere near where it is now. Hopefully the PCs can rebuild over the next four years and come back stronger in the next election.

There's definitely a 'lesser of all evils' mentality to this provincial election. Just read on VOCM that another Abacus poll conductedin the district of Topsail-Paradise has Davis trailing Liberal Rex Hillier by about 21 percent.

Yeah, all the polls have been brutal for the PCs. Tomorrow's Abacus-VOCM poll is the Deputy Premier's district - Mt. Pearl North. That one will show him trailing Randy Simms by 17 points. We will know how the 'Warrior' Cleary is faring on Friday.

More trouble for the PC Party

It really doesn't look good for the PC party....

VOCM News

It appears the Tories' decision to run a high-profile candidate from another party has backfired.

A VOCM News - Abacus Data poll shows that Ryan Cleary is trailing Cathy Bennett by 58 points. Cleary, who surprised everyone by running for the PCs after losing his seat in the House of Commons, is a distant second behind the incumbent Liberal MHA.

Controversial PC Candidate in St. John's East-Quidi Vidi, Tina Olivero, has called it quits amid a Twitter controversy sparked by her views on healing illness.

In a statement posted to her Facebook late last night, Olivero blames the media for making hay with her views and taking her comments out of context. She maintains that her view of wellness includes "self awareness" and says that view prompted "hate mail" online and in the media over the last 48 hours.

I'm seriously thinking an opposition party of 2 (1 NDP, 1 PC) probably at best.

I've given up all hope and don't care for this election. Probably won't even vote now seeing my only option is Lorraine Michael or Paul Antle. It's quite clear Dwight Ball will have a huge majority, which upsets me greatly.

Democracy is going to take a hit with this election. I'm not looking forward to a government with a huge majority and from the looks of it, barely any opposition - let alone an effective one.

After pledging a Liberal government would make no cuts Ball has followed through with that promise but is pledging to save $380 million in "government waste."

I don't know how saving money in government waste is not cuts but okay!

They'll also get back to a balanced budget by bringing in $359 million through "economic diversification". They better figure out what that diversification is quickly seeing they have yet to announce how they'll do it.

That is great news.

Also, there are some surprising district projections here: http://www.threehundredeight.com/p/atlantic.html
