A few new pics from a couple of weeks ago and today. As you can see, the steel part of the extension is starting to go up and they have started a bit of painting in random spots.

The back as seen from Water Street:

The Duckworth Street side...note the new paint job

Maybe this is the final color??

The start of the new extension

Drove by last evening and the entire height of the building is now this color (spanning only about 3 window sections so far). This image from their website seems to indicate the colour scheme:

I just hope they are using a high quality paint, not something that will flake off after a couple of years.

Just received an e-mail from The Hardman Group stating that they're aiming to begin public tours of the model apartments and general area by late February. Seems a little optimistic to me but I'm glad things are progressing nicely!

So the city is finally re painting the retaining wall on McBrides Hill the connects to MIX. They already have removed the existing mural that was flaking. Rumors is the new mural will be something related to the great fire.

The mix looks like it could be close to opening soon, looks like most the exterior is finished up now. What's everyone thoughts one the sign?

Not really a fan of the redesign...it looks like 3 or 4 different buildings slapped together.

Isn't that kind of what it is?

Maybe it's a nice tip of the cap to the history of the buildings.

I'll say this, the paint colors are bland af.

From Water Street West, looking East, it kind of sits like a big ugly duckling.
Some kind of bright accenting might have helped IMHO.

Maybe council didn't want to be too critical of the design, as it's a far sight better than the former derelict.

I feel like the old section needs to be all one color. Not one part brown and the other beige.

I agree with goodgrowth it needs to be touched up maybe they will change it. It looks to be done now not sure if anyone is living in it yet. Can't wait to see the inside photos. The lobby looks great from the outside.

I'm not holding my breath on the other two phases of this project. Development of the old CBC building would probably be beneficial depending on how Mix sales are going (I have no idea how they are). I doubt we see the final piece done, that being the condos above the garage.
